It wasn't even breakfast yet and I had alredady heard all the great lines...

"Hey Chaplain, can't you part the Red Sea?"

"Hey Chaplain, have you tried walking on water yet?"

"Hey Chaplain, there are animals lining up outside the chapel two by two - should we be worried?"

And you had to see this one coming...  "Hey Chaplain, can you turn all this water into wine?"

Kuwait had received a year's worth of rain in one night only a few days ago, with flooded barracks the result for many of our Soldiers. This caused power outages and water prohibitions for 48 hours, and presented my team an opportunity to assess morale and bring some hope and goodwill.

In the end, many Soldiers commented that they appreciated how their buddies took care of each other and everyone pitched in to create diversions for the water as it passed through and eventually receded.

I shared with our staff about a Rabbi who shared wisdom about surviving storms:

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it."  - Matthew 7:24-27

Later that morning, I took this photo above our office - with the rainbow serving as an enduring reminder of God's promise regarding floods in the book of Genesis.

Be encouraged: Our lives our established on several pillars - Family, Emotional, Social, Physical, and Spiritual. I can assure it you it's going to rain again - what are you doing now to ensure your foundation in life is built on the solid rock of faith in Jesus?

LEADER PRAYER: Lord, may we endure the storms of life by your grace and be strengthened by truth. Help us in our weakness and be exalted in our lives above ever-changing and shifting sands. Amen.

Blessings on your week --
