The world lost one of the most impactful leaders of the last 100 years when Rev. Billy Graham stepped out of the darkness of this life and into the light of the next on February

21, 2018 at the age of 99.

My good friend Larry Julian wrote a book called, "God is my Coach." In it, he recalled his mentor once asking him who he'd rather be: Billy Graham, or the one who mentored Billy Graham? He believed that if you loved and encouraged just one person and helped them grown in Christ, you could impact the world.

When I was very young, I remember watching a Billy Graham revival meeting on television. He asked those in the audience to make their way to the front to pray with him, and for those watching on TV to join him. It seemed like he was talking directly to me. I watched the streams of people walk down to the altar to pray while "Just as I Am" played in the background.

I have been personally touched by the ministry of Billy Graham. His training center, known as The Cove, located in Asheville, NC, offers free marriage retreats and personal spiritual retreats for servicemembers and Families. You've never eaten so good in you're life! No TVs in the rooms, just a simple bed, table, and chair for reading, writing, and reflecting in a beautiful mountain setting... it has allowed me to recharge my batteries and seek God's will on multiple occasions. On one of those visits, I came across this picture - the two gentlemen who mentored Billy Graham as a young Pastor.

Without those two men, we might have never known the full potential of a simple man from Charlotte, NC, whom Presidents sought for wise counsel. Find someone this week to love, encourage, and grow in Christ.

Thank heaven for the amazing blessing of this honorable man of God! We all want to meet our heavenly Father and have him tell us, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Billy Graham famously said, "My home is in heaven. I’m just traveling through this world.” If you don't have the certainty of eternal life in heaven with the saints, Jesus, and Billy Graham, you can know today by simply praying:

Leader prayer: "Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen."

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
